Jane Merkle

Jane received her Master of Landscape Architecture (1994) under the direction of then-Dean Darrell Morrison—concentrating on the use of native perennials and grasses for highway rights-of-way (“Not Just Another Roadside Attraction: Native Plant Design for the Right-of-Way”) She worked for Atlanta landscape architect Dottie Myers, for design/build firm Naturescapes, and for Fulton County, where she reviewed plans and enforced protection of trees and stream buffers for Fulton County.  Jane also brings the skills of educator and artist to the firm.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and taught in Richmond Public Schools. She has traveled widely and lived for a year in France, studying drawing and painting in the Leo Marchutz School.
