Heritage 2 Condominiums, Desmond Drive

An enthusiastic homeowners association chose to replace the overgrown foundation hollies fronting their condominiums with a native designed meadow for pollinators and butterflies, planted June 8, 2016. An array of wildflowers will bloom from April-October; native grasses give structure to the design and winter interest, while offering nesting for pollinators. Ultimately, the failing red maple will be removed. The homeowners hope to add serviceberries for flowers, fruit and fall color; and narrower native shade trees that can better accommodate the utility lines.
